I’m often approached by parents who are considering embarking on the path of home education. They want some advice about whether not homeschooling is “right” for their family, and they know I’m a fan of home education, so they ask me.
Kerri, you are an intent observer and listener to your friends and clients. I think you really got to the heart of the issues surrounding the homeschooling decisions. Thank you for including the real challenge: Interaction and Discipline. I keep finding myself telling mothers that if they're struggling with the homeschooling and need to re-evaluate, they need to start there. Not with curriculum, or scheduling, but with the relationship. And then, once that's settled down, the other areas can be evaluated more clearly.
I'm saving this post to share with others who ask me about this topic! Thank you for sharing.
Thank you, Leah! The relationship really is at the heart of it, and such a difficult thing to navigate! I think that’s wise advice to share with others.
